Practical training: wet lab club for ophthalmic surgery at ADAM University
At ADAM University, the Department of Ophthalmology runs a successful wet lab club for students, led by ophthalmology lecturer Ernisbekova Aichurok.
The club is a unique practical space where students have the opportunity to learn the basics and elements of advanced ophthalmic surgery in conditions that are as close as possible to those in an operating theatre. During the classes, students work with surgical instruments, materials and models, strictly adhering to the principles of asepsis and antisepsis.
Particular attention is paid to the formation of basic and microscopic surgical skills, the development of clinical thinking and confidence in working with their hands. This format of training allows students to understand the specifics of ophthalmic surgery at an early stage of their training and to increase their professional motivation.
The wet lab club is a striking example of ADAM University's practice-oriented approach, where theory seamlessly transitions into practice and interest in the profession is formed through real clinical experience.
