As part of their professional training, 4th-year students of the "General Medicine" program conducted a practical seminar on "5 Basic Skills of Emergency Aid." The event was organized for students from various faculties with the aim of teaching key actions in critical situations.
During the seminar, the following skills were presented and practiced:
• Checking consciousness and breathing. Participants learned to quickly assess the condition of a victim.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Medical students demonstrated the correct CPR technique on mannequins, emphasizing its importance before the ambulance arrives.
• Stopping bleeding. Effective methods for controlling bleeding of varying intensity were shown.
• Aid for choking. Participants mastered the action algorithms for clearing airways.
• Actions in case of fainting and seizures. Recommendations were given on how to safely assist a person in these states.
Special attention was paid to the practical application of each skill. Medical students acted as instructors, helping seminar participants solidify their acquired knowledge in practice.
Such events demonstrate not only the high level of training of future specialists but also their desire to share important knowledge with a wider audience. The ability to provide first aid is a civic duty and can save a life.
