On December 5, 2023, the Department of Humanities at Adam University organized a trip for 1st-year students of the direction “Economics, Management and Tourism” to the Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex.
The event is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Chingiz Aitmatov.
The purpose of the event was to introduce students to the tragic pages of the history of Kyrgyzstan, instilling civic feelings and maintaining loyalty, awareness of honor, duty to one’s country, and protecting its interests.
Students laid flowers on the grave of Ch. T. Aitmatov and honored the memory of the heroes who died on April 7, 2010 for freedom and democracy.
Next, the excursion participants visited the Museum in Memory of Prominent Government Figures Repressed in 1937
The students listened to an interesting, informative lecture about the events of that time, filled with deep drama and tragedy. A documentary film was shown about the burial place of 137 Kyrgyzstanis who were shot during the period of Stalinist repressions on November 5-7-8, 1938.
